Removal of a incurably painful eye in a heavily pregnant mare. This mare has severe uveitis, and will not regain sight in this eye. She had been severely painful for over a month, and had lost a lot of weight as a consequence.
I do a lot of these standing surgeries in Clydesdale horses. They commonly get eye cancers in sunny climates, and are difficult to anaesthetise due to their size, so we do them under sedation and local anaesthesia
